New Must Have Miracle Tech Security

Bring safety and security to your park or playground with Miracle Tech Security.  You can now protect your playground from vandalism, loitering, child predation, and other crimes.  You and your community can rely on their playground security system which features patent-pending technology.

Get rid of unwanted after-hour gatherings by using the Sonic Screen Vandal Deterrent.  This device uses Mosquito Sound Technology and emitts an ultrasonic tone that is unpleasant to teenagers, and can be altered to also be unpleasant for adults.  This equipment is weatherproof, motion activated, and can be relied on from dusk till dawn.

Keep an eye on things during all hours by using the Park Watch Video Monitor.  With infrared nighttime imaging, motion activation, and wireless communication, you can watch your park or playground in real-time video and help deter child predation and other crimes.

Keep criminals and vandals away by using the Site Bright Integrated Lighting system.  This system keeps the night lights burning with long bulb life, low power consumption, and it is also motion activated.

Harper Mccaughan Elementary, in the Long Beach School District, is the first school in Mississippi to take the step toward a safer community for children.  Take that step with them, and bring security and safety to your park or playground along with the children and families who love it.

Fort Maurepas Park

In 2005, Katrina wiped out most of the coastal areas of Mississippi.  Fort Maurepas Park in Ocean Springs was no exception.  The state and city worked hard to get the coastal area back to the way it was before.  The Ocean Springs Park and Leisure Department also put a lot of effort into getting the park back in action, and Jefcoat was there to assist.

On October 24 of last year, Fort Maurepas Park opened for business with a formal ceremony, music, and a twenty minute firework display.  The department worked with Jefcoat to create a new look for the park.  The park now has a new play structure and splash pad, both with new  surfacing .  Shaded areas, picnic tables, and benches were also added by Jefcoat Construction to complete the new outdoor stage and covered pavilion.

Miracle Recreation Equipment Company Partners with National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to Promote Child Safety

November 1, 2009

Monett, MO USA October 21, 2009—Miracle Recreation Equipment Company proudly announced today they have become a corporate sponsor of The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® (NCMEC). They have pledged to donate more than $250,000 to NCMEC over the next three years, and to help cover lodging costs necessary to reunite family members upon the recovery of missing children.

The money will be used to support NCMEC’s mission of finding missing children, preventing child abduction and sexual exploitation, and serving child victims and their families. It will also support NCMEC’s prevention education efforts targeted at providing resources and information for families to help keep their children safer. As part of the partnership, NCMEC will develop child safety tips for playgrounds and parks. According to Mike Sutton, who is the Director of Sales at Miracle and a former law enforcement officer, security on our playgrounds has not been addressed appropriately by playground equipment manufacturers. “In today’s world, we as a society must all look out for the safety and security of our children.” Miracle’s donation will be funded by the sale of playgrounds incorporating Miracle’s new patent pending MiracleTech® integrated security product line. The MiracleTech® product line includes the ParkWatch® infrared security camera to digitally record events and to help deter inappropriate activity, SiteBrite® low voltage lighting, and the SonicScreen® patented sound technology, which is designed to help deter vandalism after hours. “It is with the generous support of partners like Miracle that we are able to continue our work and help make children safer and better prepared for the risks that they face in today’s world,” said Ernie Allen, NCMEC president and CEO. “Together we can provide families with the tools and resources that can help make our communities safer, something that is important to both of or our organizations.”

Last Chance to Apply for NRPA-CDC ACHIEVE Grant —Applications Due Next Friday, December 11, 2009!

Create Healthier Communities
Obtain Funding Through NRPA-CDC ACHIEVE Grants

The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) continues to invite applications from local park and recreation agencies to become a 2010 ACHIEVE (Action Communities for Health, Innovation and EnVironmental ChangE) community. In 2010, NRPA will fund ten park and recreation agencies at $35,000 each to develop coalitions of local stakeholders and community leaders to address chronic disease risk factors of physical inactivity, poor nutrition, and tobacco use. Selected applicants will join 53 current ACHIEVE communities across the country.

The ACHIEVE grant helps agencies:

  • Reduce the incidence of chronic disease through policy, systems and environmental change strategies at the local level.
  • Create partnerships with community stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings with national leaders to learn about tools, resources, and strategies to build healthier communities.

Baker Concrete Construction-Giving Back to a community

APRIL 09

Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. is working on a project in Mobile Alabama.  Dana Furlong, Baker Safety Manager, contacted Jefcoat Recreation and Construction looking for information about playground equipment for the Salvation Army serving Saraland Alabama.  You see, Baker Concrete likes to leave a mark on the community they work in.  And they are no stranger to giving back to the communities.  I checked out there web site at www.bakerconcrete.com and I was amazed at their volunteer efforts.  Dana had his eye on the Salvation Army because they are in dire need of play equipment.  There need became Dana’s and Baker Concrete’s project for the Mobile area.  When he asked Jefcoat Recreation what we could do to assist the team at Baker to get a playground at the Salvation Army, there was only one answer, “Whatever you need Dana”.

Dana and his co-workers have passed a hat for collections among his co workers at Baker and others at the job site in Mobile. Their goal is $20,000 to purchase

Note from Dana on 4/20…I just wanted to touch base with and let you that we held our first round of fund raising this AM and had a pretty good return…  We are still a good ways away from our goal obviously, but would like to touch base with you in order to determine a poss’ end goal.

Thanks,

Dana V. Furlong

UPDATE 11/09

Today, we have completed the design and order for The Salvation Army in Saraland, AL.  The order is just in time to see the delivery for Christmas.  What better gift of LOVE than to give a child a SMILE.  It was a long road, but the determination and passion for this project has paid off.  Way to go guys.

Keep tabs on the progress of this project as we make a difference in a child’s life. Pictures will be posted as soon as the equipment goes in.

Real Product at real shows

It has always been my opinion that success at a trade show starts with taking out the chairs from your booth.  Can you imagine a playground representative, at a show, sitting down? it happens, but not on our watch and not on our team.   Play is the word of the day at any show we attend.  I love to demonstrate our product line and let a little work out too.  If you would like to see some of our products at any of you association conventions, let us know.  Add a comment or send us an email.  Tell us what shows you will be at and we’ll see you there with a product to demonstrate.

Get out and play.

 WATER VALLEY, MS

The Baker Street Park located in Water Valley, snuggled off Hwy 7 in North Mississippi.  Renovation began on October 25, 2008, with the assistance of a grant from The Mississippi Development Authority.  This grant was used to refurbish some of the old playground equipment in the park and to purchase new playground equipment for the community.  Jefcoat Recreation and Construction was instrumental in assisting Water Valley choose age appropriate playground equipment and offered quality pieces of equipment at great prices.  With the help from Jefcoat Recreation, Water Valley was able to stretch grant dollars and purchase many new items for the playground.  Without their help we would not have been able to purchase all of the new playground equipment that the children of Water Valley deserved.  Thank you Jefcoat Recreation for helping the children in Water Valley to have a beautiful and exciting playground with equipment that will last for generations.  The playground reopened Saturday, August 8, 2009.

Levert Hawkins, Volunteer

This is just one story of the many communities that we help every year.  It means the world to my team to hear back from all of you and to see those smiling faces that appear when a child sees their new playground.  Because it’s not just a place to play, it’s a place where memories are made.

Thank you Levert,  for all your hard work and dedication to this project.  Those children may not remember the hours you spent building Baker Street Park but they will always remember the gift you gave them, your heart.
